Noreena Jasper
Noreena Jasper
is an opaque, microcrystalline form of quartz. As with any microcrystalline quartz, it is hard and takes an excellent polish with cerium or tin oxide. Noreena Jasper occurs in the Pilbara region of Western Australia, not far from the iron ore mining town of Newman, some 700 miles north of the capital, Perth. The rock tends to break into angular pieces which contain the most wonderful "geometric", abstract designs.
